Doctor Strange (2016)

Doctor Strange (2016) is a superhero film directed by Scott Derrickson and part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film follows the journey of Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon whose life changes drastically after a car accident severely injures his hands, ending his medical career.
Desperate to heal his hands, Strange embarks on a quest that leads him to Kamar-Taj, a mystical place in Nepal. There, he meets the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who introduces him to the world of mystic arts and alternate dimensions.
As Strange’s understanding of magic deepens, he learns about the existence of dark forces threatening the world, led by the rogue sorcerer Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen), who seeks to bring Earth under the rule of Dormammu, an evil being from the Dark Dimension.

With the guidance of the Ancient One and fellow sorcerers Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Wong (Benedict Wong), Strange must master his newfound abilities and embrace his role as Earth’s protector to stop Kaecilius and save the world.
The film is praised for its stunning visual effects, particularly its mind-bending sequences involving the manipulation of time and space, as well as Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Doctor Strange. It combines mysticism, action, and a touch of humor, marking a unique addition to the MCU.
