Prometheus (2012)

Prometheus (2012) is a science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, set in the same universe as his seminal 1979 film Alien. The movie explores the origins of the alien creatures and the mysterious “Engineers” who created them.
The story follows a team of scientists and explorers aboard the spaceship Prometheus, led by Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and her partner Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green). They journey to a distant moon, LV-223, after discovering star maps that suggest it could be the key to understanding humanity’s origins.

Upon arrival, the crew uncovers ancient ruins and a cryptic message that leads them to an unsettling discovery about the nature of the Engineers and their plans for humanity. As they delve deeper, they encounter dangerous extraterrestrial beings and face a series of horrifying events that challenge their survival and force them to confront the nature of their existence.
Prometheus is known for its ambitious and visually stunning depiction of space exploration and its thematic exploration of creation, existence, and the unknown.

The film received praise for its visual effects, direction, and thought-provoking narrative, though some critics noted that its complex plot and philosophical questions left certain aspects unresolved. Despite this, Prometheus successfully reignited interest in the Alien franchise and set the stage for its subsequent prequels.
