Total Recall (2012)

Total Recall (2012) is a sci-fi action film directed by Len Wiseman, and a remake of the 1990 film of the same name, which was based on Philip K. Dick’s short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.” The film stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel.
Set in a dystopian future where Earth is divided between two superpowers—the United Federation of Britain and The Colony (formerly Australia)—the story follows Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), a factory worker who dreams of escaping his mundane life.
Seeking excitement, Quaid visits Rekall, a company that implants artificial memories. However, the procedure goes wrong, and Quaid discovers that his current life may be a lie and that he was once a secret agent involved in a conspiracy.

As Quaid is hunted by the authorities, including his wife Lori (Kate Beckinsale), who turns out to be a government agent, he joins forces with a resistance fighter, Melina (Jessica Biel), to uncover his true identity and stop a plot that could change the fate of the world.

Total Recall (2012) is known for its intense action scenes, futuristic world-building, and mind-bending plot twists. Though it takes a different approach from the original film, the remake retains the central themes of identity, reality, and memory while offering modernized visual effects and action-packed sequences.
