Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) is a superhero film directed by Zack Snyder, featuring two of DC Comics’ most iconic characters, Batman and Superman. The movie stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, and also introduces Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
The film is set in the aftermath of the destructive battle in Metropolis between Superman and General Zod, which took place in “Man of Steel” (2013). The devastation causes billionaire Bruce Wayne, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City as Batman for two decades, to view Superman as a potential threat to humanity. Wayne’s fear and distrust of Superman’s immense power and the possibility of him turning against humanity fuels his desire to take down the Kryptonian hero.
Meanwhile, Clark Kent/Superman struggles with his own identity and the world’s divided opinion on his role as a protector. The tension between the two heroes escalates, leading to a confrontation orchestrated by the cunning and manipulative Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who has his own plans for their downfall.
As Batman and Superman clash, they eventually uncover Luthor’s true intentions and realize they must set aside their differences to face a greater threat. The film culminates in a climactic battle that sets the stage for the formation of the Justice League.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” explores themes of power, responsibility, and redemption, while delivering spectacular action sequences and a darker, more mature tone compared to previous superhero films. It also serves as a significant installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), introducing key characters and laying the groundwork for future films in the franchise.
