Plot Summary:
In a dystopian future where much of the United States has become an irradiated wasteland, the remaining population resides in Mega-City One, a vast, crime-ridden metropolis stretching from Boston to Washington, D.C. The city is patrolled by Judges, who act as judge, jury, and executioner.
Judge Dredd (Karl Urban), one of the most feared and respected Judges, is assigned to evaluate a rookie, Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), who possesses powerful psychic abilities. On their first mission together, they respond to a call from Peach Trees, a massive 200-story slum tower, where they find three drug dealers who have been executed.

They discover that the killings are linked to Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), a ruthless drug lord who controls the distribution of a new, reality-altering drug called Slo-Mo. Ma-Ma locks down the tower and orders her gang to kill the Judges. Trapped inside the building with no support, Dredd and Anderson must fight their way through Ma-Ma’s army to survive and bring her to justice.

The film is notable for its stylish visual effects, particularly in depicting the effects of the Slo-Mo drug. Karl Urban’s performance as the stoic and uncompromising Judge Dredd, along with Lena Headey’s portrayal of the menacing Ma-Ma, received critical acclaim.
