Doom (2005)

“Doom” (2005) is a science fiction action film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, based on the popular video game series of the same name. The movie stars Karl Urban as John “Reaper” Grimm and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Sarge.
Set in the year 2046, the film follows a group of elite marines who are sent to a research facility on Mars after a distress call indicates a security breach. The facility, operated by the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC), is conducting experiments that have gone horribly wrong, leading to the creation of monstrous creatures.
Upon arrival, the marines discover that the researchers have been attacked by these genetically engineered monsters, which are the result of experiments involving an ancient Martian chromosome known as “24th chromosome.” As the team delves deeper into the facility, they face increasingly dangerous and horrific creatures. Reaper, who has a personal connection to the facility as his sister Samantha (Rosamund Pike) is one of the scientists, must lead his team through the labyrinthine corridors to uncover the truth and eliminate the threat.

“Doom” is known for its dark, atmospheric setting and intense action sequences, including a first-person shooter scene that mimics the gameplay of the original video game. Despite its efforts to capture the essence of the game, the film received mixed reviews for its plot and character development but has garnered a cult following among fans of the video game series and action-horror genre.
