Outcast (2014)

Outcast (2014) is a historical action film directed by Nick Powell, starring Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen. The story is set in ancient China, during the time of the Tang dynasty. The film follows a former Crusader, Hunter (Hayden Christensen), who, after a failed mission, is on the run and trying to leave behind his violent past. He encounters a young prince named Zhang (Jackie Chan), who has been exiled and is fleeing from his enemies, including his ruthless brother, Shing (Andy On), who wants to claim the throne.
Hunter is reluctantly drawn into the conflict when he is tasked with protecting the prince and his sister, Lian (Liu Yifei). As they flee through the dangerous countryside, Hunter must face his own demons and come to terms with his past while also helping Zhang and Lian survive the brutal pursuit of Shing’s soldiers.
The film features swordfights, action sequences, and a struggle for survival as Hunter finds himself in a foreign land with little choice but to protect those he’s come to care for. Along the way, he bonds with the exiled prince and his sister, fighting to protect them from the ruthless forces hunting them down.
Outcast is a tale of redemption, loyalty, and courage, set against the backdrop of ancient China’s political turmoil.
