Total Recall (2012)

Total Recall (2012) is a sci-fi action thriller directed by Len Wiseman, a remake of the 1990 classic. Set in a dystopian future where Earth is divided into two superpowers—the United Federation of Britain (UFB) and the Colony—due to widespread environmental destruction, the story follows Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), a factory worker dissatisfied with his mundane life.
Seeking an escape, Quaid visits Rekall, a company that implants artificial memories. However, the procedure goes awry when it’s revealed that Quaid may be a secret agent whose memory has been erased. Soon, he becomes a target of a relentless manhunt led by UFB Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) and discovers that his wife Lori (Kate Beckinsale) is an undercover operative sent to monitor him.
Quaid joins forces with a mysterious woman named Melina (Jessica Biel) and uncovers his true identity and a conspiracy involving Cohaagen’s plans to invade the Colony. As the line between reality and implanted memories blurs, Quaid must decide whom to trust and fight to protect the Colony from oppression.

Packed with futuristic visuals, intense action, and a compelling exploration of identity and memory, Total Recall reimagines the original story with a modern twist while exploring timeless themes of freedom and self-discovery.
