The 13th Warrior (1999) is an action-adventure film directed by John McTiernan, based on Michael Crichton’s novel Eaters of the Dead. The story is a historical fiction inspired by the legend of Beowulf, set in the 10th century.

The film follows Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan (played by Antonio Banderas), a learned Arab ambassador who is sent to the North by his sultan.
