The Silent Hour (2024)

The Silent Hour (2024) follows Frank Shaw, a Boston homicide detective who, after a car accident, loses his hearing. Eleven months later, he is still adjusting to his deafness when his former partner, Doug Slater, now a narcotics detective, asks for his help with an investigation. They need to interview Ava Fremont, a deaf woman who witnessed a drug dealer’s murder, but the ASL interpreter is unavailable for a month.
Frank and Doug visit Ava’s apartment in a nearly vacant building, learning that the residents were evicted due to upcoming renovations. Frank discovers that Ava had struggled with drug addiction in the past and finds Narcan in her bathroom.
Ava hands Doug her phone with footage of the murder before they leave. However, Frank realizes he has forgotten his phone and returns to Ava’s apartment, only to find that she is being targeted by corrupt police officers, led by Lynch, who intend to stage her overdose and kill her.
As Frank uncovers the truth about Ava’s past and the conspiracy against her, they are left with little hope. Their only chance for survival is to contact Doug and expose the corrupt officers before it’s too late. The film focuses on themes of betrayal, survival, and the struggle for justice.
