Mortal Kombat (1995)
Mortal Kombat (1995) is a fantasy martial arts film based on the popular video game series. The story follows three martial artists—Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade—as they are chosen to participate in a deadly tournament known as “Mortal Kombat.” The tournament is held on an isolated island and is organized by the powerful sorcerer Shang Tsung, who serves the evil Emperor Shao Kahn.
The fate of Earthrealm is at stake, as the tournament is part of an ancient ritual. If the forces of evil win ten consecutive tournaments, they can invade and conquer Earth. As the heroes compete against a host of skilled warriors, including the monstrous Goro and the mysterious Sub-Zero, they must overcome personal challenges and face their own fears.
Led by the ancient martial artist Raiden, who is the protector of Earthrealm, the trio must defeat Shang Tsung and his champions in order to prevent the invasion of Earth. The film features intense fight sequences, iconic characters from the video game, and a battle between good and evil. Ultimately, Liu Kang emerges as the hero, saving Earth from the impending threat and securing the realm’s future.
