Battlefield Earth (2000)

Battlefield Earth (2000) is a science fiction film directed by Roger Christian and based on the novel of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard. The film stars John Travolta, Barry Pepper, and Forest Whitaker.
Set in the year 3000, the film imagines a dystopian future where Earth has been taken over by an alien race known as the Psychlos. These aliens have dominated the planet for 1,000 years, exploiting its resources and enslaving humanity.
The story follows a group of human rebels, led by a young man named Jonnie Goodboy Tyler (played by Barry Pepper), who rises to challenge the alien invaders and liberate Earth.
Battlefield Earth is often criticized for its convoluted plot, poor special effects, and unconvincing performances, but it has gained a cult following due to its ambitious, albeit flawed, vision. The film has been described as one of the notable examples of so-bad-it’s-good cinema.
