Stake Land (2011)

Stake Land (2011) is a post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Jim Mickle. The movie is set in a world devastated by a vampire pandemic that has turned much of humanity into feral, bloodthirsty creatures.
The story follows Martin (Connor Paolo), a young survivor whose family is killed by vampires.
He is rescued by a hardened vampire hunter known only as Mister (Nick Damici). Together, they travel across the desolate United States, seeking safety and battling both vampires and hostile human survivors, including a fanatical religious cult that sees the apocalypse as divine punishment.
As they journey, Martin and Mister encounter other survivors, including a nun (Kelly McGillis), a pregnant woman, and a former marine, who join them in their quest to find “New Eden,” a rumored safe haven. The group forms a makeshift family, facing relentless danger while struggling to retain their humanity in a brutal world.
Stake Land is praised for its atmospheric storytelling, gritty realism, and strong performances. The film blends horror, drama, and survival elements, creating a haunting tale of resilience and hope in the face of despair.
