Underworld: Awakening (2012)
Underworld: Awakening (2012) is the fourth installment in the Underworld franchise. The film continues the story of Selene (played by Kate Beckinsale), a skilled vampire warrior who has been imprisoned in cryogenic suspension for 12 years. She is released when a new war between vampires and Lycans (werewolves) intensifies.
Upon her release, Selene discovers that humans have now become aware of the existence of vampires and Lycans and have begun a campaign to eliminate both species. She also learns that her former lover, Michael, is missing, and that a new generation of hybrid creatures, born from vampire and Lycan DNA, is emerging.
Selene teams up with a human named Detective Sebastian, and together they seek out the truth behind the new hybrid threat and the forces behind the human eradication campaign. Along the way, Selene uncovers dark secrets about her own past and is forced to confront a dangerous new enemy.
The film is filled with action-packed sequences, with Selene engaging in fierce battles against both Lycan and human adversaries while protecting a young hybrid girl who holds the key to the future of the vampire and Lycan races. Underworld: Awakening explores themes of survival, betrayal, and the shifting dynamics between the two supernatural species.
