Defiance (TV Series 2013–2015)

Defiance (2013–2015) is a science fiction TV series set in a future where Earth has been drastically changed by the arrival of several alien species. The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of St. Louis, Missouri, now known as Defiance, where humans and aliens must learn to coexist after a devastating war between the Earthlings and the extraterrestrial invaders.

The story focuses on the character of Joshua Nolan (played by Grant Bowler), a former military man who becomes the lawkeeper of Defiance. He works alongside his adopted alien daughter, Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas), a member of the Votan race, to maintain order in the town. The inhabitants of Defiance include a mix of human and alien races, each with their own cultural tensions and struggles for power.

As Nolan and Irisa navigate the complex political and social landscape, they uncover conspiracies, face threats from both alien and human enemies, and deal with the legacy of the war. The town itself serves as a microcosm of the larger issues facing the world, including prejudice, survival, and the challenge of rebuilding civilization.

The series explores themes of identity, loyalty, and the clash between different cultures, set against a backdrop of action, intrigue, and a constantly changing environment.
