Outlander (2014โ€“present) is a historical drama series based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series. The story follows Claire Randall (played by Caitriona Balfe), a World War II nurse who, while on a second honeymoon in Scotland with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies), is mysteriously transported back in time to 1743. In this tumultuous period, Claire becomes entangled in the Jacobite risings and meets a Highland warrior, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), with whom she forms a deep and complex bond. The series blends historical events, romance, and time travel, exploring themes of loyalty, love, identity, and survival across different time periods.
