Me Before You

Me Before You (2016)
Me Before You is a heartfelt and deeply emotional romantic drama, adapted from the bestselling novel by Jojo Moyes. Directed by Thea Sharrock, the film presents a poignant story of love, loss, and self-discovery, while exploring the unexpected bond between two very different people.
At the center of the story is Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke), a quirky and cheerful young woman with a vivacious personality and a dull life in a small British town.
Louisa is thrust into a whole new world when she becomes the caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy and adventurous banker who was paralyzed from the neck down after a tragic accident. Will’s life, once full of excitement and travel, has dwindled to a daily routine of frustration and emotional isolation. He is bitter, angry, and deeply reluctant to accept the life he now faces.
Despite their stark differences, Louisa and Will form an unlikely bond. Louisa brings an infectious energy to Will’s dark world and, through her quirky nature and determined optimism, challenges Will’s resignation to his fate.
As their relationship develops, Louisa learns more about Will’s past and the reasons behind his despondency. Eventually, she discovers that Will is determined to end his life through assisted suicide in a foreign country, feeling he can no longer live with the limitations imposed by his condition.
