THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM 2
Warner Bros. has revealed that the next chapter in the Lord of the Rings saga will be titled The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, with Andy Serkis returning not only as the director but also reprising his iconic role as Gollum. The film will be executive produced by Ken Kamins, Serkis himself, and Jonathan Cavendish from The Imaginarium.
In a joint statement, Jackson, Walsh, and Boyens shared their excitement: “It’s a great honor and privilege to return to Middle-earth with our dear friend and collaborator, Andy Serkis, who has unfinished business with Gollum! As lifelong admirers of J.R.R.
Tolkien’s expansive mythology, we’re thrilled to work with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and the entire Warner Bros. team on another legendary adventure.”
Serkis himself added, “Yessss, Precious, the time has come to embark on this journey once more with my dear friends—Peter, Fran, and Philippa.
Working alongside Mike, Pam, and the Warner Bros. team, and collaborating once again with WETA and our filmmaking family in New Zealand, is nothing short of a dream come true.”
