2026 is gonna be an all time year for horror!
1. Evil Dead Born – Fall 2026

 

A new chapter in the Evil Dead universe, full of gore. In this installment, the Necronomicon is discovered in a remote mountain town, where a group of teenagers accidentally awaken an evil force. With classic horror elements, the film continues the bloody, brutal and heart-stopping style of Evil Dead Rise.


2. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple – 2026

 

The sequel to the popular post-apocalyptic survival series. 28 years after the Rage virus devastated England, a group of survivors discover the “Bone Temple” – a place that holds the secret to the virus’s origin. A third more dramatic, darker installment than 28 Weeks Later.


3. The Mummy – “Something ancient has awakened”

 

An ancient mummy awakens – and it’s unlike anything before. Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin brings a modern take on the mummy, mixing spiritual horror and action. Audiences will face an ancient curse and gruesome deaths.


4. The Exorcist – A new dark iteration

 

Mike Flanagan presents a dark and terrifying demonic world. A young priest confronts an ancient entity worshiped as a goddess. The film has a psychological horror style, haunting and strong religious symbolism, similar to The Haunting of Hill House.


5. Terrifier 4 – By Damien Leone

 

Art the Clown is back – crazier than ever.
After the massacre in Terrifier 2, the new part promises to be even bloodier and sicker, with the setting of Halloween night at a haunted fair. The film retains the hardcore slasher style for fans of extreme horror.


6. They Follow – Sequel to It Follows, directed by David Robert Mitchell

 

Sequel to It Follows (2014) – the nightmare returns.
When the curse is spread again through a group of young people, they realize that the thing chasing them has evolved – faster, more ruthless. Still the dark atmosphere and the characteristic creepy electronic music.

7. Ready or Not 2 – Bloody revenge sequel

Grace is back – and she’s not playing games anymore.
After the night of the dead, Grace (Samara Weaving) becomes the hunted one. She’s determined to destroy the remaining Le Domas clan, turning the second season into a bloody revenge and satire on the rich.

8. Werwulf – Werewolf-themed horror

A modern-day werewolf saga. A European mountain range is under attack by bloodthirsty creatures. A young cop must uncover the origins of his family’s werewolf bloodline. A mix of survival horror and gothic, The Witcher meets The Howling.

9. IV – From Jordan Peele, possibly a 4th horror film

Jordan Peele’s fourth thriller is full of metaphors and sensations. There’s no official plot yet, but the poster hints at themes of divination, demonic hands and prophecy. It’s expected to explore modern cultural and social fears like previous films: Get Out, Us, Nope.

10. Scary Movie – A reboot or continuation releasing July 7

The horror parody franchise returns for a new generation. This time, films like Smile, Barbarian, M3GAN and Talk to Me are parodied in a humorous way. The cast is youthful, with lots of surprise cameos from TikTok and YouTube stars.

11. Wolf Creek: Legacy – “There will be blood.”

Killer Mick Taylor never goes away.
Back in the Australian outback, the new installment continues with a group of YouTubers lost and hunted. The tone is dark, tense, and full of brutality, just like the original Wolf Creek.

12. Crystal Lake – Prequel series related to Friday the 13th, on Peacock

A prequel to Friday the 13th, from producer Bryan Fuller. Set before Jason Voorhees became a legend, the series chronicles Jason’s childhood, his death, and the descent into madness of his mother, Pamela. A multi-layered, character-driven horror series.
