Several years after the catastrophic earthquake that shattered California, the San Andreas Fault remains dangerously unstable. Ray Gaines (Dwayne Johnson), now working in emergency infrastructure, is pulled back into action when a new mega-quake strikes, triggering tsunamis, volcanic ruptures, and devastating aftershocks across the Pacific Rim. Joined by his daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario), now a geological researcher, Ray must lead a high-risk rescue across collapsing cities and shifting landscapes to prevent a full-scale continental catastrophe.
