28 Years Later (2025)
28 Years Later is an upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, marking their return to the franchise they began with 28 Days Later (2002).
This third installment in the series is scheduled for release on June 20, 2025, and is intended to initiate a new trilogy, with the sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, already completed and directed by Nia DaCosta.
Plot Overview
Set nearly three decades after the initial outbreak of the Rage Virus, the film explores a world where the infection remains contained within the United Kingdom.
A group of survivors resides on a small island connected to the mainland by a heavily defended causeway. The story follows a young boy who ventures into the mainland with his ailing mother in search of medical help, navigating through a landscape filled with mutated infected and remnants of humanity.
