Poldark (2015–2019)
Poldark is a British historical drama television series created by Debbie Horsfield, based on the novels by Winston Graham. The show aired on BBC One and ran for five seasons, from March 8, 2015, to August 26, 2019.
The story follows Ross Poldark (played by Aidan Turner), a British Army officer who returns to his home in Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War. Upon his return, he discovers his father’s estate in ruins and his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth (Heida Reed), engaged to his cousin. The series explores Ross’s efforts to rebuild his life, his relationships, and his struggles against the powerful Warleggan family.
The cast also includes Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza, Ross’s maid-turned-wife, Jack Farthing as George Warleggan, and Luke Norris as Dr. Dwight Enys. The show is praised for its stunning cinematography, compelling storytelling, and strong performances.
