Astonishing: 3,000-year-old bronze sword still nearly shiny

The sword dates back to the late 14th century BCE, during the Middle Bronze Age, and was found in a tomb containing three sets of human remains.

According to Insider, the octagonal bronze sword is believed to have originated in the late 14th century BCE, during the Bronze Age.

Archaeologists have unearthed a bronze sword over 3,000 years old at a burial site in Germany, and the blade is said to be “almost still shiny.” It was discovered last week during an excavation in the city of Noerdlingen, in the German state of Bavaria, according to a statement from the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments.

The sword is so well preserved that it still gleams, with an octagonal hilt made entirely of bronze.
