Kerma Culture Burial (ca. 2050โ1750 BC)

This reconstructed burial represents a typical Kerma culture grave from a cemetery in northern Sudan, dating to around 2050โ1750 BC.
The deceased man is laid in a crouched position on his right side, with his head facing east and looking north. At his feet lie the remains of ๐ด๐ข๐ค๐ณ๐ช๐ง๐ช๐ค๐ฆ๐ฅ sheep or goats, while pottery vessels and cuts of meat are placed nearby.
These ritual elements strongly suggest a belief in an afterlife, reflecting the spiritual and funerary customs of the Kerma people.
