Dwayne Johnson stars as Mike McCann in this explosive sequel where the ice is thinner, the stakes are higher, and survival is slipping fast. When a rescue mission turns into a deadly trap, only sheer will and brute strength can break through the frost.

The story begins when a methane gas explosion occurs at a diamond mine in northern Canada, trapping 26 workers underground. To rescue them, a team of professional truck drivers must transport heavy drilling equipment across treacherous icy roads – roads carved out of a frozen lake. Mike McCann (Liam Neeson), a veteran truck driver, and his brother Gurty (Marcus Thomas), an Iraq war veteran with PTSD and speech impediments, join the rescue team.

They are joined by Jim Goldenrod (Laurence Fishburne), a seasoned truck driver, and Tantoo (Amber Midthunder), an indigenous woman with personal reasons for joining the mission. Along the way, they face not only harsh weather conditions but also uncover dark conspiracies from the company that owns the diamond mine.
