Mayan Ballgame Scoreboard Unearthed at Chichen Itza

Mexican archaeologists have discovered a circular Mayan scoreboard at the Chichen Itza archaeological site, according to a statement released by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) on Monday.

The carved stone disc, featuring two ballgame players, was unearthed in the Chinchanchob architectural complex.

Experts estimate that the artifact dates to the Early Postclassic period, approximately between 800 and the early 900s AD.
