Stone Rhyton in the Form of a Bull’s Head

This intricately carved stone rhyton, shaped like a bull’s head, comes from the palace complex of Knossos on the island of Crete, the center of the Minoan civilization.
Dating to 1600–1500 BC, it was likely used in ritual libations or ceremonial contexts.
The bull held deep symbolic significance in Minoan culture, often associated with religious rites and mythological themes such as the Minotaur. This masterpiece of craftsmanship is now housed in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Crete.
