Black Wake (2018)

Black Wake (2018) is a sci-fi horror film directed by Jeremiah Kipp that blends elements of Lovecraftian terror and psychological mystery. The story follows a group of scientists who are investigating a series of bizarre deaths along the eastern seaboard.
The victims appear to have gone insane before their deaths, and the clues point to a mysterious black substance linked to an ancient, malevolent force lurking beneath the ocean.
Dr. Luiza Moreira (played by Nana Gouvea), a scientist specializing in ancient texts, is brought in to analyze the situation. As she delves deeper into the case, she begins to unravel a terrifying conspiracy involving an underwater alien parasite that can control human minds.
The parasite’s goal seems to be the destruction of humanity, and as the infected rise in number, Dr. Moreira must race against time to stop the impending global catastrophe.

Black Wake explores themes of madness, paranoia, and cosmic horror, drawing inspiration from classic H.P. Lovecraft stories. The film’s eerie atmosphere, combined with a plot involving mind control, ancient evils, and apocalyptic stakes, creates a tense and unsettling viewing experience for fans of sci-fi horror.
