The Chronicles of Riddick (2004)

The Chronicles of Riddick is a 2004 science fiction action film directed by David Twohy. It is a sequel to the 2000 film Pitch Black and stars Vin Diesel, who reprises his role as the anti-hero Riddick.
The story follows Riddick as he escapes from prison and becomes embroiled in a conflict between the Necromongers, a fanatical warrior race led by Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), and the inhabitants of a distant planet.
The Necromongers aim to conquer the universe and convert or kill anyone who resists their rule. Riddick, with his unique abilities and survival skills, must confront the Necromongers to protect those he cares about, including his friend Jack (now known as Kyra, played by Alexa Davalos).
The Chronicles of Riddick expands the universe established in Pitch Black, introducing new worlds, lore, and characters. The film features impressive visual effects, intense action sequences, and a darker, more epic tone than its predecessor.

While it received mixed reviews from critics, audiences appreciated its ambitious world-building and Diesel’s performance. The film has since gained a cult following and is considered a notable entry in the sci-fi genre, setting the stage for subsequent Riddick films.
