Inkheart (2008)
Inkheart is a fantasy adventure film directed by Iain Softley, based on the novel of the same name by Cornelia Funke. The movie follows Mo Folchart (played by Brendan Fraser), a “Silvertongue” with the magical ability to bring characters and objects from books to life by reading aloud. When Mo reads from a book called Inkheart, he accidentally releases a villain named Capricorn (played by Andy Serkis) into the real world while trapping his wife, Resa, inside the story.
Years later, Mo and his daughter, Meggie (Eliza Bennett), discover that Capricorn is trying to find a way to summon an unstoppable monster from the same book to dominate the world. With the help of some allies, including characters from the book, Mo and Meggie must find a way to stop Capricorn and rescue Resa.
Inkheart blends the wonder of storytelling with action and adventure, taking viewers on a magical journey where fiction and reality collide.
