Underworld (2003)
Underworld (2003) is an action-horror film that delves into a secret war between two ancient species: vampires and Lycans (werewolves). The story centers on Selene, a highly skilled vampire warrior, or “Death Dealer,” whose primary mission is to hunt and eliminate Lycans, who have been enemies of the vampires for centuries.
While tracking a group of Lycans, Selene discovers they are pursuing a human named Michael Corvin, who holds a mysterious importance to them. As she digs deeper, she learns that Michael may carry a unique genetic trait that could be the key to creating a powerful hybrid, combining vampire and Lycan abilities.
Defying her vampire coven’s rules, Selene protects Michael and uncovers shocking secrets about the origins of the vampire-Lycan conflict. She learns of betrayal within her own ranks and the true history of the war, which is far more complex than she realized. In a climactic showdown, Selene must choose between her loyalty to the vampires and her new understanding of the Lycans’ plight.
Underworld combines dark fantasy with gothic action and explores themes of loyalty, identity, and the complexity of ancient feuds.
