TROY (2004)

Troy (2004), directed by Wolfgang Petersen, is an epic historical war film that brings the legendary tale of the Trojan War to life, inspired by Homerโ€™s Iliad. Set in ancient Greece, the film follows the tragic story of love, honor, and betrayal that sparks one of history’s most famous battles.
The story begins when Paris (Orlando Bloom), prince of Troy, falls in love with Helen (Diane Kruger),
the beautiful queen of Sparta, and takes her back to Troy, igniting the wrath of her husband, King Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson).
In response, Menelausโ€™s brother, King Agamemnon (Brian Cox), gathers a massive Greek army to lay siege to Troy, enlisting the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) for his unmatched skill in battle. Achilles, driven by personal pride and a quest for glory, becomes a central figure in the war, clashing with Hector (Eric Bana), the noble prince of Troy and defender of his city.
As the Greeks and Trojans engage in brutal combat, themes of fate, loyalty, and the human desire for immortality are explored. With spectacular battle scenes, impressive performances, and a dramatic retelling of an iconic myth, Troy captures the grandeur and tragedy of a war fueled by passion and ambition, ultimately depicting the rise and fall of heroes.
