The Little Mermaid (2023)
The Little Mermaid (2023) is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s beloved 1989 animated classic. Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, a young and adventurous mermaid princess who dreams of exploring the human world above the ocean’s surface.
Ariel’s fascination with the human world grows after she rescues Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) during a shipwreck, igniting a deep longing to be part of his world.
Determined to be with Eric, Ariel strikes a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), trading her voice for the chance to become human.
However, Ariel soon realizes the risk of losing everything she loves as Ursula has dark plans of her own. With the help of her loyal friends — Sebastian the crab, Flounder the fish, and Scuttle the seagull — Ariel faces numerous challenges to protect her family and find her true place in the world.
