HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 4 (2024)

High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie centering around the Albuquerque, New Mexico fictional East High School and their students.

Filmed on location in Salt Lake City at the real East High School and Ogden, Utah, the movie (and their first two filmed sequels) are directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega, who also worked on Disney’s “Newsies” and “Hocus Pocus”.

Since the movieโ€™s original premiere, it has become one of the centerpieces of Disney’s “tween” (mostly girls between 6 and 13 years old) marketing, with the original soundtrack and DVD versions having gone multiple platinum.

Two sequels and one spinoff have been made due to the success of the film, with High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year being released to positive reviews, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure to moderate reviews.

“High School Musical 4” continues the beloved franchise with a new generation of students at East High. The film introduces a fresh cast while retaining the core themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery.

Plot Summary:

The story revolves around a new batch of students who come together for a high-stakes high school musical competition. The film explores their personal struggles, ambitions, and relationships as they prepare for the big show.

The story weaves in familiar elements from the previous films, such as the tension between competing groups and the excitement of performing on stage.

Strengths:

Catchy Music: The film features a selection of upbeat and memorable songs that stay true to the franchise’s musical roots.

Energetic Performances: The new cast brings fresh energy and charisma to their roles, delivering strong performances both in acting and singing.
