Underworld (2003)
Underworld (2003) is a dark fantasy action-horror film directed by Len Wiseman. The story is set in a world where vampires and werewolves (Lycan) have been at war for centuries. The film follows Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a skilled vampire death dealer who is determined to eliminate the Lycan threat.
Selene discovers that the Lycan leader, Lucian (Michael Sheen), is planning something far greater than she initially realized. As she investigates, she uncovers a deep conspiracy that links her own past to the Lycan and vampire conflict. Selene becomes entangled in a forbidden romance with a human named Michael (Scott Speedman), who is caught in the middle of the vampire-werewolf war.
As Selene and Michael’s relationship develops, she learns more about the true nature of the war, and her role in it, ultimately leading to a confrontation between the vampires, the Lycan, and the humans.
The film combines gothic horror with intense action sequences and explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the blurred lines between good and evil. “Underworld” introduces audiences to a dark, stylized world of supernatural creatures and the ongoing battle for control and survival.
