“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” released in 2013, is the second installment in the three-part film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved novel “The Hobbit.” Directed by Peter Jackson, this epic fantasy adventure continues the journey of Bilbo Baggins and his companions.

The story picks up where the first film, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” left off.
