Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) is the second film in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, directed by George Lucas. Set ten years after the events of The Phantom Menace, the galaxy is on the brink of war, with tensions rising between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance.
The film follows Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), as they investigate an assassination attempt on Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), the former queen of Naboo and now a senator. Anakin is assigned to protect Padmé, and the two begin to develop a forbidden romance, despite the Jedi Code forbidding attachments.
As Obi-Wan uncovers a conspiracy involving the creation of a clone army for the Republic, the galaxy plunges into the Clone Wars. The Jedi are called to fight in the conflict, and Anakin’s loyalty begins to be tested. The film delves into themes of love, loyalty, and the growing darkness within Anakin, setting the stage for his eventual fall to the dark side.
Attack of the Clones features thrilling action sequences, including large-scale battles, lightsaber duels, and space combat, and marks the beginning of Anakin’s journey toward becoming Darth Vader.
