The Terminator (1984)
In the year 2029, a dystopian future controlled by the artificial intelligence Skynet wages war against humanity. To prevent the birth of the future resistance leader, John Connor, Skynet sends a deadly cyborg assassin, the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), back to 1984 to kill John’s mother, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton).
At the same time, the human resistance sends soldier Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) to protect Sarah. As the Terminator ruthlessly hunts her down, Kyle reveals the truth about the future and John’s role in leading humanity against the machines.
After a series of intense chases and battles, Sarah and Kyle manage to destroy the Terminator in a factory, though Kyle is killed in the process.
In the end, Sarah, now pregnant with John, prepares for the future war, leaving behind a recorded message for her son as she drives into an uncertain destiny.
