⚔️ PLOT SUMMARY
“Live to tell the story. Die to protect the brother beside you.”

Based on the harrowing true story of Operation Red Wings, Lone Survivor follows four elite Navy SEALs on a mission deep in the mountains of Afghanistan in 2005. Their task: to locate and eliminate a high-ranking Taliban leader.

The team—Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg), Michael Murphy (Taylor Kitsch), Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch), and Matt Axelson (Ben Foster)—infiltrate enemy territory only to find themselves unexpectedly surrounded by a massive force of Taliban fighters after their cover is blown by local shepherds.

Cut off from communication, vastly outnumbered, and facing impossible terrain, the SEALs engage in a relentless firefight against overwhelming odds. Each man fights with unmatched courage and loyalty, refusing to abandon one another even as the situation becomes increasingly dire.

As bullets rain and comrades fall, Marcus Luttrell becomes the only survivor—wounded, broken, but determined to survive and honor his fallen brothers. He is eventually rescued by local Afghan villagers who defy the Taliban to protect him, risking everything in the name of an ancient tribal code of honor: Pashtunwali.
