MEG 3: PRIMAL WATERSFIRST LOOK (2025) | Jason Statham**

*MEG 3: PRIMAL WATERS (2025)* has caused a stir with a fan-made first-look trailer from KH Studio, released on July 17, 2024, starring Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor. The trailer begins in the South Pacific, where Taylor, now retired and raising his rebellious stepdaughter Meiying (Shuya Sophia Cai), accepts a consulting job for a reality show, *Daredevils*.

The job turns deadly when the area, riddled with missing ships, reveals a new wave of megalodons and an even older and more terrifying prehistoric threat. The action explodes: a high-speed boat chase through turbulent waters, a brutal underwater fight with an enormous Meg, and a chilling glimpse of a shadowy creature that dwarfs sharks.

“The ocean keeps its secrets, until it doesn’t,” Taylor growls, while Statham’s intensity anchors the chaos. With over a million views, this concept trailer is exciting fans, but it’s not official: Warner Bros. hasn’t yet greenlit *MEG 3*, and the trailer uses AI-generated footage and clips from *The Meg* and *Meg 2: The Trench Hunt*.

The fan-created plot is inspired by Steve Alten’s 2004 novel *Meg: Primal Waters*, the third in the MEG series, where Jonas, 18 years after *The Trench*, faces financial troubles and a midlife crisis, only to face the megalodons again during a television job. However, an actual *MEG 3* is still unconfirmed.

*Meg 2: The Trench* (2023) grossed $394 million but received a 27% Rotten Tomatoes score, leaving its future uncertain despite director Ben Wheatley’s interest in a trilogy, as noted in a 2023 GamesRadar+ interview. Statham’s 2025 slate includes *The Worker*, available now, and *Mutiny*, due in 2026, making a 2025 release unlikely; It’s more likely to be in 2027 or later if the project moves forward. X-fans are excited, but some are wondering if the franchise can evolve beyond its creature feature roots, especially since *Meg 2*’s lighter tone disappointed Statham himself, according to IMDb.
