Sony Pictures has unveiled the much-anticipated sequel to the 2013 sci-fi hit After Earth. Will Smith and Jaden Smith return as Cypher and Kitai Raige in After Earth 2, which takes audiences to new, unexplored regions of a reclaimed Earth.
This bold continuation of the franchise, which has gained a devoted cult following over the years, is set to premiere in theaters on June 19, 2026.
Taking place 15 years after the original story, the film follows Kitai Raige—now a seasoned ranger—on a critical mission to secure the future of humanity. Kitai uncovers a hidden sanctuary on Earth filled with relics of past human achievements and strange life forms that could either aid or threaten mankind’s survival.
Cypher Raige, older and more reflective, joins his son for one final journey, offering a heartfelt exploration of their father-son relationship against the backdrop of Earth’s renewed and breathtaking wilderness.
