Mycenaean Daggers and Swords

Greece, 16th–14th century BC
Collection: National Archaeological Museum, Athens
These finely crafted bronze weapons highlight the skill and artistry of Mycenaean metalworkers. Many were elaborately decorated with gold or silver inlays, depicting hunting scenes, animals, or geometric motifs.
While functional as weapons, they also served as symbols of prestige and authority, reflecting the wealth and warrior culture of Mycenaean society during the Late Bronze Age.
